RETIREMENT
For the attention of patients attending Sundrive Medical Centre and Shelton Medical Centre
Following on from a letter you may have received from the HSE, I want, personally, to let you know that I will be retiring from the Family Practice at the end of August
It is with mixed emotions that I write this message. On the one hand I am fortunate to retire in good health but on the other hand very sad to leave a work place I have very much enjoyed for the past 37 years.
Over the years I have got to know many of you and your families. I feel very privileged to have been entrusted with your health needs.
Health needs and health care have changed significantly in those years. I think we will all agree that a significant improvement in general healthcare has been achieved although access at times may be difficult.
Our practice has also undergone some changes and has expanded in that time. There is a strong team of Doctors, Nurses and Administrators dedicated to your needs as patients. I am quite certain this will continue and get stronger as time goes on. I will remember fondly my time working in Sundrive and the special relationship I have enjoyed working with all the colleagues on the team. I wish them a very successful continuation as much as I wish you, who have attended as patients and friends, good health and wishes

Not Retiring
Also following on from a letter you may have received from the HSE, I want to let all my patients know that I am not retiring. I am retiring from the HSE but I am still able to look after my patients as usual. Your medical card will be changed to another doctor but you can still attend any doctor in the practice. Although I am not retiring fully I am cutting down on my sessions.
With best wishes
Dr. Imelda Sliney
